Long-term RVing is a great way to experience Florida tourist hot spots like a local. It can also be a cheaper way to live in paradise steps from the beach. And, if you do it right, you’ll save a ton of money too! Whether you want to snowbird to The Sunshine State in winter or stay all year long, these long-term RV parks in Florida are for you!
Benefits of Long-Term RV Stays
Long-term RV stays have many benefits – the best of all being the money you save! When you stay at an RV park facility long-term, your rates will be cheaper than nightly or weekly rates. Some long-term RV parks in Florida offer discounted monthly rates and others offer discounts for annual residents, as well.
Long-term RV stays are the ideal opportunity for someone looking to move into an RV to save money. This is especially beneficial for people who want to stay in their hometown or live close to work. Curious about the legality of stationary RV living? Check out our article Can You Legally Live in a Camper in Your Backyard?
Alternatively, long-term RVing is a great way to get to know a destination and truly experience the area like a local. You can be a full-time RVer without being a full-time traveling RVer, or you can just travel at a much slower pace. Long-term RV parks in Florida make both options possible.
How Much Does It Cost To RV Park in Florida Long-Term?
Depending on where you stay and how long you choose to stay there, long-term RVing in Florida can cost as low as $400/mo or be as expensive as $2,000+/mo. If you are flexible with location and can make a longer rental commitment, you will be rewarded with the lowest prices possible. If price is a concern, plan to stay for 6 months or longer to get the most bang for your buck!

What Kinds of RV Parks Allow Long-Term RV Parking?
Most RV parks will have some type of long-term RV parking deal, and in Florida they almost expect it. However, you will notice that some parks allow you to stay so long you can do annual leases or even buy the RV lot outright. Once an RV lot is bought, many lot owners will put park models or even build permanent homes on them.
So, some of these parks and resorts can turn into a hodgepodge of RV and building types. Don’t be turned off by a park that has homes and park models; often those now permanent residents started coming to that park as RVers themselves, and in our experience are very welcoming!
How to Reserve a Long-Term RV Spot
Reserving a long-term RV spot in Florida can be a bit different than reserving a regular stay. Usually, longer stays are treated more like rental agreements rather than campground bookings. Often the park management will want to ensure that the vehicle(s) are insured properly, and they may even go so far as to do a background check. You will also usually have to pay for your electricity usage in addition to the rental fee.
To book for large chunks of time, you’ll want to plan well in advance to get your desired dates, especially during peak season. Most long-term stays in Florida book up as much as a year in advance. Many seasonal visitors will have a rolling reservation to come back year after year and there may even be a wait to get into a particular park. The most popular months to book in Florida are November to April, and snowbirds from the north are the usual clientele.
Can You Live Year Round In Your RV in Florida?
Depending on the park policies and availability, yes there are places you can live year-round in your RV in Florida. Keep in mind that June thru November is “hurricane season” in Florida. We do not recommend staying in an RV during a hurricane, so you may need to hitch up and evacuate if a storm forms.
Air conditioning will also be necessary for living comfortably year-round in your RV in Florida. In the summer time, temperatures frequently hang in the 90s, and overnight temperatures don’t often dip below 80 degrees F.

I usually stay in Tampa at the Lazy Days RV Park. It is voted one of the top 10 in Florida. But, this list makes me want to hit the road to a new destination in Florida. Although the price tags on some of those are steep. The most I've paid monthly was about 800 in Las Vegas at a KOA. I have a motorhome so I would love to check out some of these motorcoach only resorts. Saving this list for later. Thanks for sharing this info Tom and Katlin!

We live in an amazing Golf and RV Resort in Titusville, Florida 4 months of the year. It is called The Great Outdoors RV and Golf Resort. We own our RV pad and Executive Suite. We started full time RV life 2 years ago and this is our "hometown" so it made perfect sense to invest in this property which is so near to all of our closest friends and family. You two should check it out! If you are ever in the Space Coast area you are more than welcome to stay at our location if we are not there. Space, Beach, awesome restaurants! We LOVE watching your adventures and learning from all of your varied experiences.
