We held of on writing this post in hopes that it would be the one to include wonderful news of the house sale…but sadly that is not the case. We are still in our stationary home, in Freeland, still waiting and wishing for our beautiful house to sell. But it’s been nearly a month since we’ve blogged, and so it could not be put off any longer.
However, we do write with some optimistic news!
Needless to say, we have only grown more impatient, and last week we hit the tipping point.
While we can’t quite yet justify completely skipping town and bee-lining to the West Coast as originally planned while still owning the house, we’ve come up with an alternative plan that at least get us into our new home.
~ The Wedding ~
We weren’t sure when we received the invitation that we would be able to attend our friend’s wedding, what with all the anticipated selling and moving going on. Noblesville, Indiana in August didn’t exactly line up with our projected course – we were hoping to be halfway to Washington by now!
But, since we have had no selling and no real moving, we found ourselves needing to send our RSVP answer by July 1st, and still no further away than we were 6 months ago.
We seized the opportunity! And to our GREAT fortune, the campground right across the street from the venue had plenty of vacancy and gave us a weekly rate that’s cheaper than a one-night stay at a hotel! You just can’t beat that.
So thanks, soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Gerke! Thanks for giving us a much needed excuse to get out of here!
*BONUS: We get to spend more time in the area and hopefully get to have dinner with the bride and groom! As fun and wonderful weddings are, it can be hard to really catch up when everyone in the room is vying for their attention at the same time.
**DOUBLE BONUS: The venue also happens to be a golf course, and since we’ve been spending much of the last couple weeks filming golf courses, maybe we’ll even be able to drum up some business while we are in the area.
Traveling and working is the whole idea behind this adventure!

Moving Into the Fifth Wheel…Finally!
Once we move in, we’re not planning to move out again. After the trip to Indiana, we’re planning on continuing up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit family for a while, and then hang around the Lower Peninsula of Michigan until early October. This so we aren’t far from the house should it actually eventually sell, and to be around for Tom’s sister’s wedding vs. having to fly back from wherever we’d be.
So, we’ll be moving the final essential things into the fifth wheel before we leave at the end of July, and we are so excited! She’s coming out of storage soon! 😀
And to all our Michigan friends, please let us know if you’re willing to let us park our 40-foot house at your place for a spell in the coming months – we’d love to see you!
