Best Time of Year to Visit Port Aransas

So when should you visit Port Aransas? With temperatures ranging from 50-65 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter to 80-95 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, you can visit Port Aransas all year. 

If you like competitive fishing, you can participate in over 20 tournaments held every summer. Or, if you enjoy birding, you can come during the annual Whooping Crane Festival, celebrating the return of the cranes from their winter migration in February.

7. On the Beach RV Park

Address: 907 Access Rd 1-A, Port Aransas, TX 78373

Welcome the sunrise by walking a few yards from your RV to feel the gulf waters rush onto your toes. The location doesn’t get much better than at On the Beach RV Park

Rates vary by season, with the lowest daily rate in the fall and winter. You can also get weekly and monthly rates. This park also welcomes pets and has no breed restrictions.

6. Mustang Island State Park

Address: 9394 TX-361, Corpus Christi, TX 78418

Located in Corpus Christi, Mustang Island State Park boasts five miles of coastline. Water and electric campsites sit about a third of a mile from the beach for $20 per night. You can also go primitive camping on the beach for $10 per night. 

While you may enjoy beach campfires, no fires are allowed at the RV campsites. You can attend a kayaking class, a Salty Safari tour, or learn about beachcombing. Check the calendar of events during your stay for more activities.

5. Gulf Waters RV Resort

Gulf Waters RV Resort, one of the more luxurious Port Aransas RV Parks on the beach, is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and four ponds. With over 150 full hook-up sites, this resort offers deluxe, premium, and executive site options for your stay. 

Daily rates start at $62 per night in the winter and increase during the summer season. Even though the beach is only a short stroll across the boardwalk, you can also take time to relax in the heated swimming pool or jacuzzi spa.

4. Pioneer RV Resort

Address: 120 Gulfwind Dr, Port Aransas, TX 78373

Pioneer RV Resort offers its guests two swimming pools, a hot tub, a dog run, and a convenience store. Take a ride on your bike or golf cart along the private boardwalk for a sunset view. You can also explore the birding pond located onsite.

3. Surfside RV Resort

Surfside RV Resort is another excellent Port Aransas RV park on the beach. It has concrete pads that provide 20, 30, and 50 amp service. The short walk to the beach only takes five minutes. 

Rates start at $57 in the winter and $62 in the summer. They also take monthly reservations if you want to spend several weeks exploring Port Aransas. The resort also provides on-site laundry, a swimming pool, and a hot tub.

2. IB Magee Beach County Park

Address: 321 N on the Beach, Port Aransas, TX 78373

Located near the Horace Caldwell Pier, IB Magee Beach County Park offers 64 RV and tent sites. You won’t feel like you’re camping on top of your neighbor here, with plenty of spacing between concrete pads.

You can go primitive camping on the beach, which has bathhouse access. The park consists of 167 acres of natural beauty.

Our final recommended Port Aransas RV park on the beach is Port A RV Resort. Here you’ll find both back-in and pull-through sites. This relatively new park has Wi-Fi and cable included in your stay. 

Other amenities include pools, a dog park, a rec room, and laundry facilities. They offer standard, premium, and premium plus sites. Rates start at $70 during the winter season and require a 3-night minimum stay during the summer season.
