What Are RV Events?

RV events are held all over the country. Some relate to a particular crowd and aren’t open to just any RVer. For example, Fulltime Families is available to traveling families and caters to providing guidance, teaching, and events for parents and their children. Other events are open to anyone, even if you don’t own an RV. RV shows are ideal places to start your search because you have the opportunity to tour as many RVs as you can during the event.

Some RV events offer camping on-site, like the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, while others require visitors to find camping. Some RV events sell out yearly, like the Balloon Fiesta, while others allow walk-ins. So do your homework before making plans to attend an RV event.

Why Do RVers Attend RV Events?

There is a multitude of reasons why RVers attend RV events. One reason is to build community and connect with other like-minded individuals. Events sponsored by FMCA and Escapees are excellent opportunities to form relationships with other members and meet again at various locations throughout the year.

RV events are prime opportunities to shop for new RVs and learn about new technologies. For example, at the Florida SuperShow in 2022, Winnebago introduced the e-RV concept. People interested in purchasing an RV also have the chance to walk through hundreds of models if time allows. Almost every top manufacturer in the country will have their brands represented and on sale.

What Is the Largest RV Event?

The Quartzsite RV Show is the largest RV event in the number of people who attend. Attendees are estimated upwards of a million people each year over the entire ~2-week duration. Not only are there hundreds of RVs on display, but the locals also show up and make the event like a swap meet or flea market. You can buy local honey from one vendor and learn more about Truma water heaters at another.

Other big RV events include the Hershey PA RV Show, with over 60,000 people in attendance, and the Florida RV Supershow in Tampa, with over 80,000 attendees.
