Amenities: This small campground has 36 paved RV sites with cement pad patios. You’ll get free Wi-Fi and cable in this gated community. And there’s a heated swimming pool.

Pet-Friendly: You can bring up to two pets per site. Pets aren’t allowed on the beach due to local county rules. And you can’t bring certain breeds of dogs, like Rottweilers and pit bulls.

Restrooms and showers are climate-controlled, and there’s laundry. It’s big-rig friendly, with a maximum length of 60 feet. Their beach and campsites are wheelchair-accessible.

Pet-Friendly: This campground is pet-friendly. The ¾-mile trail is great for walking your dog, but pets aren’t allowed on the beach.

Amenities: Geronimo offers 34 large RV sites with concrete pads. With 30- and 50-amp electric hook-ups, water, and sewer, you’ll have everything you need. Address: 7525 W. County Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459

The 156 RV sites offer 30- and 50-amp hookups, sewer, and cable. Some sites have concrete pads. And there’s a swimming pool and laundry onsite. The climate-controlled shower houses and an onsite store and cafe round out the offerings of this state park. 

Pet-Friendly: Pets are welcome at this campground, both on the hiking trails and at the campsites.

Why You’ll Love It: The dunes tower 25 ft above sea level. And for fishing enthusiasts, there’s fishing in both the saltwater gulf and in freshwater at a coastal dune lake. Rent kayaks or paddleboards to use on the Gulf of Mexico.

There are more than 15 miles of hiking trails within the park. There are weekly ranger programs, and the campground offers several accessible amenities, like beach wheelchairs and elevated boardwalks.

5. Destin West RV Resort

Address: 1310 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548

7. Grayton Beach State Park

Address: 357 Main Park Rd, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459

Amenities: This state park features 59 sites with electricity and water. Some sites offer sewer hook-ups, and the maximum RV length is 40’.

The one-mile beach lies within walking distance. Several sites are handicap-accessible. And they have beach wheelchairs and a Mobi-Mat on the beach.

Pet-Friendly: Pets are welcome, but no more than four per site. Pets aren’t allowed on the beaches.

Amenities: This RV park only offers 10 spots and at this time only allows RVers wanting long-term spots of at least one month. These sites are affordable for monthly sites, starting at $565 per month for rigs smaller than 30’.

They go up to just under $700 for RVs up to 42’, which is the largest size they accept. They have full hook-up sites with cable and Wi-Fi. There’s a boat launch across the street at Joe’s Bayou.

Pet-Friendly: Per their Facebook page, small indoor pets are allowed, but we recommend calling first.

Why You’ll Love It: This small campground of long-term RVers is perfect for those wanting more of a neighborhood vibe than a campground vibe. If that’s you, consider how long you want to stay and watch their website for openings because they go fast.

The campground isn’t right on the beach, but you’ll be only two to seven miles from all the beaches in Destin.
