Another great RV park is Matagorda Bay Nature Park. It's between Freeport and Port Aransas. Some of the sites are on the Colorado River where it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. I stayed there a couple of nights last year. Gorgeous sunsets, full hookups, laundry and bathrooms (both require codes to keep out beach visitors). One of my favorite places that I stayed at last year.
