The city of Winnemucca has an ideal location right off Interstate 80. However, it has so much to offer that you’ll likely want to stay for more than a night. Just a few miles north, you’ll find the Winnemucca sand dunes. Jump a dune buggy or feel the sand between your toes while visiting the park.
The town is also home to four city parks: Riverview, Pioneer, Vesco, and Highland. With ample grass, you can spread out for a picnic, let the kids run around, or enjoy an evening stroll. There’s also a skateboard park, Veterans Memorial park, and a community pool nearby that guests can enjoy.

About: New Frontier RV Park may be an RV park, but it does it right. Their level sites measure 70’x30’. You’ll have plenty of room for slide-outs and won’t have to worry about your neighbors invading your privacy. All roads are extremely wide and make it easy to navigate even the largest rigs. It’s a great location to enjoy any of the area’s activities and enjoy views of mountains in the distance.
Amenities: With full hook-up and huge pull-thru sites and free cable, this park allows you to stay comfortable while visiting Winnemucca. It also has a laundry facility. With monthly rates starting at $395 and daily rates at $25 to $48, staying here is a no-brainer if passing through the area.

2. Winnemucca RV Park
Address: 5255 E Winnemucca Blvd, Winnemucca, NV 89445
About: Winnemucca RV Park caters to young families, semi-retired, and fully retired travelers. They display the spirit of hospitality that many think of when they talk about the city of Winnemucca. It has a camp store with supplies to make it easier to snag things you need while on the road. They can even special order items for you and have the parts ready when you arrive. At $39 a night for a pull-thru site, it’s hard to beat staying at this big-rig-friendly RV park.
Amenities: It has nearly 100 campsites with 50 and 30 amp electrical connections. You get free Wi-Fi to help you stay connected for remote work and online learning. After a day of adventuring, work, or school, you can tune in to any free cable TV channels. You can also use the on-site laundry, swimming pool, dog walk area, and putting green.
Morton Road Trip Rating: 8/10 — With limited amounts of grass, the spaces feel closer together, which causes it to feel like an RV park but has many great amenities.

3. Model T Casino & RV Park
Address: 1130 W Winnemucca Blvd, Winnemucca, NV 89445
About: You can get a paved or grass space at Model T Casino and RV Park. The campground is a part of the Model T Casino. You’ll stay next to the casino with plenty of machines, a sports lounge, and a bar. This is an older RV park but can be very convenient for a short stay. This can be a decent option for $30 per night or $180 per week.
Amenities: When it comes to amenities, you’ll find 30-amp sites, sewer hookups, and laundry facilities. It’s a pet and family-friendly park that provides all you could need for your stay. You can stay close to many exciting activities and the necessary stores to stop up on supplies.
Morton Road Trip Rating: 7/10 — Recent reviews are less than favorable, but this could still be a decent option if you can’t make a reservation at one of the more highly rated parks.
4. Silver State RV Park
Address: 5575 E Winnemucca Blvd, Winnemucca, NV 89445
About: Silver State RV Park offers something for just about everyone. Take a dip in the pool, ride your bike, or take an adventure on one of the many hiking, biking, or ATV riding trails. It has over 130 sites on this charming plot of land and opportunities for tent or teepee camping and cabin rentals.
Amenities: Your four-legged friends will love the dog park and the dog wash station. Kids can splash in the pool and play in the playground areas. It has free Wi-Fi, full hookups, and propane for sale on site. The campground is big-rig friendly and makes it easy for large rigs to navigate in and around the park.
Morton Road Trip Rating: 8/10 — This RV park has relatively low reviews from recent guests. The resort is a former KOA campground, which needs an update. It’s a decent spot to stay in a pinch, but better options are available in Winnemucca.

This is the perfect no-frills place to park an RV if you don’t want to pay for amenities and activities that you won’t use.
Amenities: While this place lacks some amenities that attract people to RV parks, it’s a great place to park an RV. It has tent camping, pull-thru sites, laundry facilities, and a dump station if needed. It’s a budget-friendly place to stay if you want to take your time seeing the area.
Morton Road Trip Rating: 7/10 — It doesn’t have many reviews but has the potential to be a great spot to stay if you’re not expecting many amenities.

Bonus Boondocking Spot: Water Canyon Recreation Area

About: The Water Canyon Recreation Area has rugged terrain that provides some incredible views. The Bureau of Land Management maintains the land and offers sites for those looking to camp overnight. It’s a great spot to enjoy picnics, hiking, biking, or some ATVs.
Amenities: In this BLM location, you’ll find eight sites. The sites vary in size, but many prefer to stay in site #4 because it’s huge. It has picnic tables, fire rings, and shelters for campers. You can also explore many trails and see the area.
Morton Road Trip Rating: 9/10 — If you enjoy boondocking, this is a fantastic spot to camp. You’re only 6 miles outside of Winnemucca and can enjoy the dark skies and immense privacy of boondocking.

Prices vary by time of year, RV site, etc. Check with the park for their pricing.
