Enjoy White Sand and Clear Water in South Padre

South Padre Island is off the southernmost coast of Texas. You can easily access it by a bridge from the mainland. You’ll find a plethora of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, hotels, and entertainment on the island.

The best part of South Padre Island is its 34 miles of white sandy beaches. There’s a chance you’ll see dolphins swimming in the waves, and you’ll find a few beach bars along the shoreline. Positioning yourself at Isla Blanca Beach on the southern tip of the island, you can see SpaceX rocket launches near Boca Chica Beach to the south.

When Is the Best Time to Visit South Padre Island?

Summer is the ideal time to visit the island for the best weather and warmest ocean temperatures. However, winter and spring is the best time to stay at South Padre Island RV parks without the crowds. From the first of the year through June, there are fewer people. There will be more space to enjoy the beach and restaurants without lines.

South Padre is susceptible to hurricanes from late summer through the fall. So please watch the forecast if you’re visiting during that time.
